Maria Carlos creates digital illustrations with satisfying combinations of reduced colors and inclusion of diverse representations of characters. An illustrator, whose joyful illustrations and GIFs explore the peaceful side of life. Her folio is sure to get a smile from even the most upset person.

Based in Portugal, Maria Carlos works with her twin sister in their studio next to Porto, called Bavaroise Design since 2021. Her passion for creativity is driven by the ocean (despite being a lazy surfer) and their shared childhood in the 90s.

She graduated from the University of Fine Arts in Porto in 2013. With experience working in design and advertising agencies in São Paulo, Porto, and Lisbon, she has collaborated with numerous national and international brands, including WWF, Samsung, Somersby, Microsoft, Sonae, and TAP.
